Google Android Mobile Phone India Launch Dates Announced
Submitted by admin on Mon, 10/13/2008 - 05:28.
After trying Google Android Online Emulator, I am almost decided to buy this phone, and the good news is the Google Android (also known as The Google Phone) powered HTC phones will be available in India by end of this year in December, The company is in-talks with major mobile operator's for launching the product.
However, don't expect the prices similar to US markets which is around Rs 8,200 ($179), Ajay Sharma, country manager, HTC (India) hinted this saying : "the Indian market does not work on the handset subsidy model".
This phone does have the potential to be the iPhone Killer, if offered at a reasonable price (Less then Rs. 20,000) in India this phone would definitely be a huge hit.

will it make an impact?
I doubt unless the handsets are fairly priced. You saw what happened with iphone. The operators dont even have the 3G network yet and still they are priced at 30-35k INR. Whos mad to buy at this price? Sure there are some, but not the masses.
YOU ALL ARE FOOLS
YOU ALL ARE FOOLS to price this mobile at such a high cost in india. As rightly said, it will fail like iphone.
Be a smart competetor.you think people are fool to buy your idiot mobile at such a high price.
we hope that the mobile will be at a price which most people will come forward to buy,coz we are eagerly waiting for its launch.
good luck.

open source is cheap
That was the intent of developing Android platform.
30 open source technologies are integrated to reduce the cost of phone.
And Google model of software distribution is way different when compared to Apple.
So it should be quite equivalent to US price or little more.
