How to activate Windows 8 using your product key

After installing Microsoft Windows 8, the very first thing you should be doing is to activate your copy using an genuine product key. Microsoft Windows 8 activation procedure is similar to Windows 7 and all you need to do is to supply the activation application your correct product key and have an active internet connection.

Microsoft Windows 8 will automatically prompt a user via "Action Center" notification as soon as an active internet connection is detected after installation, all a user needs to do is to follow onscreen instructions (as also shown in images below) and complete the procedure which hardly takes few minutes for online verification of your product key with Microsoft licensing servers. Without activation of Windows 8, users are restricted to use all features of the operating-system like Personalization and are nagged from time-to-time.

I'm using Windows 8 Pro and activated successfully. But i'll change the OS(Linux/Windows XP or any other) when i need to do for Studies. But not going to do dual boot and not going to take system image backup(as i don't have the extra HDD and don't have clod storage space. And here are the basic Q's asked by Everyone(incl. me):

1. If i want to do a clean install of Windows 8 Pro again, will it activate?

2. In Microsoft Answers, the Answers given to many are, If it didn't activate, Call and speak to support person through Phone Activation. But in many sites and forums, many people say that it didn't get activated, called support many times.

Please help me in these Questions so that it'll be most helpful in going further with Windows 8.
3. Many are saying image backup didn't work/made their HDD unbootable. So i'm not going to risk. And

4. If i change the HDD to new HDD, then also same phone activation/system image is recommended by many answers in Microsoft.

5. If i change the monitor to any other touch screen enabled(in future), then will it affect the activation?

Use VMware Player and install Windows XP/Linux/Any other, within Windows 8 as virtual machines. Formatting and reinstalling every time you need to use a different OS is ridiculous, why did you ever think it was a good idea?

I don't like to load my PC with another OS, whether its Virtual/dual boot. The thing is i just need the answers for my Questions above. I just need a single OS at a time and more HDD space. Please answer the above Queries. Currently, I'm not into Virtual PC at all(may change my mind later).

These are my opinions to your questions, it would be advisable you crosscheck them with Microsoft forums (or any other official version from them) :

1. If i want to do a clean install of Windows 8 Pro again, will it activate?
- Not with the upgrade key, you can however do a Windows 8 clean installation launched from a previous version of Windows and it will activate. Check Windows 8 Activation Error page for this with solutions to bypass in comments.

2. In Microsoft Answers, the Answers given to many are, If it didn't activate, Call and speak to support person through Phone Activation. But in many sites and forums, many people say that it didn't get activated, called support many times.
- Try the Registry hack mentioned in story comments shared above.

3. Many are saying image backup didn't work/made their HDD unbootable. So i'm not going to risk. And
- ??

4. If i change the HDD to new HDD, then also same phone activation/system image is recommended by many answers in Microsoft.
- The answer is same as point 1, there is no difference if you use a new or old HDD. You will need to do a clean installation from another Windows version or use the registry hack.

5. If i change the monitor to any other touch screen enabled(in future), then will it affect the activation?
- I guess not. Even if it does, you can activate ti again. Dont worry you have a genuine product key and the restrictions are there to stop misuse of them by pirates - not for legit users like you.
