Independent designers often come up with innovative and exciting user interfaces for computer operating-systems, and here is another one which I would definitely want Microsoft to look into for there upcoming Windows 8 operating-system, This project was originally intended for the Microsoft Next Gen Computer competition in 2008 (see details after the jump).

Microsoft Windows 7 is due retail release on October 22, 2009 and according to some reports Microsoft has already started working on Windows 8, we have seen artists conceptualizing Microsoft Windows 8 GUI and features via creations like Windows 8 Transformation Pack and Windows 8 Superbar but the real shocker came when I saw a leaked version of Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Edition available for download on a torrent portal accompanied with the following screen-shots.

Don't be surprised as there is no publicly available Windows 8 GUI concept yet, but similar to previously shared Windows 7 Theme artists have now started to create Windows 8 theme concepts which in my opinion does not look very different then current Windows 7 interface, this Vista transformation pack concept consists of Theme, Logon Screen, System Tray icon, Tclock Lite and Wallpapers.
