StoreDot Flash Battery Charges Phone In Seconds, Gets Demoed At CES 2015

We have written about the world's fastest charging battery StoreDot a few months ago, earlier the Israeli startup demoed their product charging a Samsung smartphone to it's full-capacity in under a minute. Back then the size of the battery and charger were bottleneck for daily use, the company has now came over that limitation and have presented a much slimmer version of the technology at CES 2015.

New Battery Technology Can Reach 70% Charge In 2 Minutes And Last For Over 20 Years

While our electronic gadgets are evolving by the day, a common bottleneck faced is the outdated battery technology. Luckily, quite a few technological researches looks promising for the future battery technology - be it the COTA Wireless charging, the superfast NanoDot Smartphone Charger (Recharges in 30 seconds) or the all new ultra-fast charging batteries that last 20 years from Scientists at Nanyang Technology University (NTU).

The new lithium ion batteries can reach a 70% charge in two minutes and last for over 20 years. The change that did the trick was using titanium dioxide nanotubes for the anode (the negative pole) instead of conventional graphite which speeds up the battery's chemical reactions while offering 10,000 charging cycles instead of the usual 500. Since the mini titanium tubes are both easy to make and relatively inexpensive, the technology should not be far away from consumer usage.

[Video] Goodbye carwash, Nissan Unveils The Self-Cleaning Car Technology

In yet another exciting development for automotive technology, Nissan has now unveiled something which every car owner would want - a car that can repel water, oil, dirt, dust, mud and grit making it virtually self-cleaning. Nissan is testing their cars to use the 'super-hydrophobic' and 'oleophobic' nano-technology based paint finish called Ultra-Ever Dry to repel stuff your car encounters making it look dirty. The company is performing extensive trials to determine if the material is durable for long-term use on vehicles, and whether it holds-up good in different weather conditions around the globe. Once cleared the coating will be offered as an after-market option to car owners. Don't miss the demonstration video shared ahead to see this technology in action.

[Video] Bio-organically Derived NanoDot Smartphone Battery Recharges In 30 Seconds

StoreDotThere has been some exciting new developments in the battery technology which powers our mobile life today, the promising COTA Wireless charging and the super-thin LithiumCard portable battery pack are some such examples. While exciting they do not address the biggest hassle of using a battery - the long recharging time, but soon this is going to be taken care of thanks to the new "Nano Technology" powered smartphone battery which recharges in 30 seconds.

Based on the StoreDot Nanodot, the first bio-organic nano crystal ever discovered which are only 2 nanometers bio-organic peptide molecules in size, the batteries derived from these NanoDots are not only bio-organic but due to their size, have both increased electrode capacitance and electrolyte performance, resulting in batteries that can be fully charged in minutes rather than hours. The company has already released a public video demonstrating this ground-breaking development, showing a smartphone battery getting fully-recharged in 30 seconds flat.

Super Material Graphene : Toughest, Lightest, Thinnest, Transparent, Flexible and Conductive...

If you think Diamond is the strongest material known to humans, you are wrong !!

A super-material named "Graphene" would be the correct answer to that, it's not only harder than diamond but 300x stronger than steel, if that is not enough the material is Thinnest and Lightest material ever discovered. The other qualities which makes it a SUPER-MATERIAL are conductivity which is better than Copper, flexibility and transparency. And for technology this means awesome nano-technology gadgets we have never imagined before.

Do watch the Graphene introduction video and a concept future gadget using it envisioned by Nokia after the jump (read more).
