A selection of the best Nintendo Switch games

The gaming world is a vast one these days, with numerous options available to the avid gamers of today. Thanks to constant advancements in technology, the gaming genre is arguably the best it has ever been.

The abundance of devices with their compatible creations means there’s a gaming platform and a game out there for virtually anyone. From the likes of PUBG on Playstation, to FIFA 20 on Xbox, alongside creations for your mobile phone like safari adventure in the wild life slots, gaming is in an extremely good place. Throw in the emergence of tech such as VR headsets and augmented reality, and we’re only really touching the surface. The progression in this area has been frankly insane.

One gaming device that has certainly captured the attention of the public in recent times has been the Nintendo Switch. Having a portable gaming device is all the rage these days. With that in mind, we thought we’d go through a selection of the best Nintendo Switch games around currently.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

When the Nintendo Switch’s details were released, games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons seemed like a long way off, but they’re the norm for this remarkable little device now. Set on a deserted island, the aim of the game is to build up your island from scratch and make the most of the various customisation options as you explore your vast surroundings. You can place decorations and furniture, create patterns for flags, and even paint your face. The game also takes up to eight players so that you can enjoy it with a group of friends. If you’re looking for a fun game in 2020, then Animal Crossing: New Horizons is definitely up there with the best.

My Friend Pedro

My Friend Pedro is just about as manic as it gets, but it’s damn good fun. Many have compared this game to the likes of Hotline Miami and the Max Payne series, accompanied with the acrobatics of Trials. With various levels to get through, the game involves taking anything out in your path. It’s basically a creation where you kill a lot, then escape out of the fire exit. A simple but highly effective game, My Friend Pedro is well worth playing.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

The GameCube original of this game didn’t really deliver, but the third version of it for the Nintendo Switch is pure perfection. It’s up to Luigi to rescue his brother and friends from a horrific haunted hotel. There are puzzles to solve, ghosts to see off and some beautifully designed levels—a simply faultless release.

Katana Zero

Katana Zero is one hell of a game, especially if you’re a lover of all things samurai. Playing as samurai, Katana Zero is all about finding and taking out high-value targets as you work your way through the various missions you’re tasked with. The levels are split into rooms, with plenty of action occurring in every setting. Not only is the game epically fun, but its stylish combat and well-written story help also separate it out from similar releases. Simply put, Katana Zero is a great game.

Ape Out

Ape Out is just about as brutal as it gets on the Nintendo Switch, but the occasional pile of blood-soaked limbs soon becomes a normal occurrence once you get to grips with deposing of any humans who stand in your way. The objective of this one is to save your ape from captivity and take it to freedom, but it won’t be easy. There’s trigger happy guards and tough locations to find your way out of.
