Disabling Debug Mode In VMWare Workstation Beta

VMwareUsers are not allowed to switch off DEBUG mode in VMWare Workstation beta versions as no "Gather debugging information" option is available to switch it off. Running virtual machines in debug mode has significant impact on virtual machine performance and you are warned about this every time you launch a VM.

VMware Debug Mode Warning

Here is simple and fast trick to disable the debug mode in beta version to get rid of this warning and faster virtual machine performance.

  1. Paste this in Windows explorer bar - %PROGRAMFILES%\VMWare\VMWare Workstation\ and hit enter to open your VMWare install location.
  2. Rename vmware-vmx-debug.exe to vmware-vmx-debug.exe.old.
  3. Rename vmware-remotemks-debug.exe to vmware-vmx-debug.exe.old.
  4. VMWare Debug Files Before Rename
    VMware Debug Files
    VMWare Debug Files After Rename
    VMware Non Debug Files
  5. From now-on VMWare Workstation will not use the debug executables.
