I m having two computer. in one pc there is an antivirus installed and in another there is no antivirus installed. i m using tally in non antivirus installed pc. problem is tht when i take backup frm my pc n open it in installed antivirus pc then it showed some files only not the latest updated files..why it is happening.. now i also want to install the antivirus in my pc which had no antivirus..but problem is tht when i will install antivirus in it then the antivirus will delete my backup becoz of virus.. so how to get rid of this problem..plzz suggest me.. how to protect my data frm deleting and will succesfully install the antivirus in it also.......

we just installed windows server 2008 r2, and tally keeps getting corrupted and restarting of the server is necessary which is not advisable. we cannot keep restarting the server for tally. i woulde like to ask, is there any incompatability issue with server 2008 and tally 9 erp? we have other applications in the network but it's working very well except for the tally, usually it will be ok and then slow and then stuck.

is there any way to fix this?
can we put another workstation in the network where the tally is fully installed and its database. i want the tally to be shared from that workstation not from the server to avoid frequent restart.

I am using a Tally ERP 9 silver single user edition release 1.16.Few day back my system was suffering with lots virus. I want to format my system that's why I surrender my license and take a direct back from Data folder without using a tally back option (I always do that and its always work very much).

Now I have reactive the same one but release is showing 1 gold. When I put my same data, which I had directly copy paste from previous data folder after that select the company then I am facing one error. Error flashing on window is {INCORRECT VERSION! DATA OF INCORRECT VER (2) CAN ONLY RUN VERSION (1)!}.

We are using Tally 7.2. Since yesterday one company is not being shown in "Select Company" list. While checking the data file of that company, it is present in the tally "Data" folder.

another method for rewriting: (It is not working with my problem)
Click Start > Run > Type ’C:\(Tally 7.2 directory name)\Tally72.EXE C:\(Tally Data path)[space]/
then press enter
for Eg: c:\tally7.2\tally72.exe c:\tally7.2\data /
after pressing enter tally will get open and at company info screen press Ctrl + Alt + R then select the corrupt company.

(This method is not working with my problem) Please solve my problem with a another better mathod.

another method for rewriting: (It is not working with my problem)
Click Start > Run > Type ’C:\(Tally 7.2 directory name)\Tally72.EXE C:\(Tally Data path)[space]/
then press enter
for Eg: c:\tally7.2\tally72.exe c:\tally7.2\data /
after pressing enter tally will get open and at company info screen press Ctrl + Alt + R then select the corrupt company.

(This method is not working with my problem) Please solve my problem with a another better mathod.

Do the following steps:
First create a copy of the data folder. so that if something goes wrong you will have atleast a copy of it.

Secondly, open tally data folder and delete all .TSF files.

Then restart Tally and try to open the company. It will work.

Perform check disk of the drive in your corrupted tally data is located, maximum problem are experienced due to bad sectors.

Check disk attempt to repair such bad sectors.

To perform check disk click on START->MY COMPUTER->RIGHT Click on(DISK IN WHICH YOUR DATA IS LOCATED) i.e.: D: (In my case)->PROPERTIES-> TOOLS-> CHECK DISK-> TICK BOTH OPTIONS-> OK

If it ask you for restart select yes Restart your computer, after restart Allow Computer to Disk check .

Now try opening tally.

My problem is i have deleted one usefulness company when tally opened, i didn't watch, immediately total data of tally in data folder C Drive didn't displayed, total data deleted automatically, it is very serious problem, please if any one knows this type of problems to get data, please solve my problem.......................................

1 time I doubble click on tally icon... it is not open... 2nd time i try ..it is open..
Entry done in to abc compony. 1st attemped tally open in to background. Now my all other compony working fine with tally. but this abc compony is not working. After tally open I selected abc compony then tally shows message like contact tally administrator person. pls help me to solve this issue...
