MicroXwin Runs Debian & Android Together, Works Faster On Raspberry Pi

X- Window System is the core graphic-framework for Unix/Linux desktops. Sadly, it does not works very well with low-power mini-pc's like Raspberry Pi and therefore alternatives like Wayland are being developed. MicroXwin is a kernel-based X Windows implementation, which claims to be the smallest and fastest X implementation promising a faster, stable and has low-latency GUI on mini-pc's with the added advantage of being a unified Linux distribution that can run Android and Debian/Ubuntu applications simultaneously. Both Android and Debian apps run at native speeds and unlike other hacks Debian apps don't depend on Android and has full compatibility with all Android applications.

This is looking to be a great solution to the lack of proper graphic-driver problem on Debian ARM, which prevents proper YouTube and HD video playback on these devices where Android will act as the solution under the unified distribution. VolksPC, the company behind MicroXwin have also shared two videos - one showing Debian-Android duality, and the other showing upto 66% faster desktop performance on Raspberry Pi.

Steps To Recover Lost USB Disk Space

A few days ago my friend experienced "lost disk space" on his 8 GB pen-drive while using the Videocon D2H external-disk TV recording functionality. The DTH STB asked to format the device to enable recording, after which only 149MB was left visible/usable on Windows. While inspecting the disk from "Windows Disk Management" console, it was clear the space was still there but is of an unknown format, the recording feature on STB deliberately converted the disk to a custom file-system to prevent piracy of recorded material. We simply need to reclaim the space using special utilities as demonstrated ahead.

Leaked Windows 9 Build Shows Return Of A Redesigned Start Menu

Microsoft Windows 9 was already being rumored and now a new leaked build seems to confirm the whispers. While the leaked screenshots show a Windows 8.1 Pro watermark, from past experiences we can safely assume that to be the case with very early alpha builds. The new "Hybrid Start Menu" appears to be a mix of the legacy start menu with Metro portion integrated into-it as tiles. Also, it is to be noted that this build 9788 having Windows NT kernel version 6.4 (which is the next kernel version hence Windows 9 not Windows 8.2), which was compiled on July 4 has got no ISO's available/leaked on file-sharing and torrent websites for download so the origin of the leak should be inside Microsoft.

We posted about the open-source, cross-platform, free utility Popcorn Time a few months ago. The original application was taken down after threats by anti-piracy agencies, but was open-sourced which resulted in numerous forks making it virtually impossible to block the application (Don't forget to enjoy behind the scene story in this animated video from the developer shared below).
