Get 500GB online storage for free

Sadly, BeeCloud - the only cloud backup solution offering a whooping 500+ GB free online storage went out of the business recently. However, not exactly a cloud backup service provider a new service "JumboFiles" do offer their free account users a generous 500 GB of online file storage space.

The service is more like a online file-locker like Hotfile, Megaupload and Rapidshare and offers users free 500GB account to store files with 1GB size-limit per file, with support for resumeable downloads and download accelerators.

i really hope this isnt run by Livedrive, I joined two of these similar hosting services only to be dissapointed a month later with the closing of the operation, livedrive was in volved in both of them,,,,just saying

You wrote pretty much exactly the same thing I wanted to say when I red about this offer.

Livedrive technically is really cool, BUT they seem to suck for their re-sellers for they all quit with livedrive :(

Luckily, jumbofiles is not livedrive. And it has it's own upload tool!

I only hope it does not share all files by default :s

Peace!

It doesn't share files by default. You have to make them public. But there is no hotlinking unless you're a premium user.

I always loved LiveDrive!... And you can't argue with 500Gb storage :)

nice info

First, THANK YOU for offering your file storage service to the public! It is most generous!
Installation on my Win7 Ultimate (X64) was smooth and flawless. More importantly, it worked just fine for uploading a couple of trial files and then downloading them! Installation of the uploading tool also worked flawlessly.
My wife says I'm "all thumbs", so TEN THUMBS UP to JumboFiles!

Again, thanks!

Well we will try hoping that they do not like us ... Livedrive account closure after 15 days .., thank you anyway

hello,

How long will the file be stored?
Your files will never be deleted as long as it has at least 1 download in the last 30-180 days,

see http://www.willemijns.com/backup.htm to have lower space but for life with no download needed to keep forever your files

Too bad, I already found a deal breaker when it comes to use jumbofiles as a 'permanent' backup / sharing solution...

How long will the file be stored?
Your files will never be deleted as long as it has at least 1 download in the last 30-180 days, please check for the
filesize listed in the table below. These limits are not strictly enforced, in reality, sometimes it will take longer to
delete if there is no need and there are lots of storage space available.
Filesize
Unregistered / Registered Free User
Premium User
25MB or less
180 days from date of last download
Never
25MB - 100MB
60 days from date of last download
Never
100MB - 600MB
45 days from date of last download
Never
600MB - 2000MB
30 days from date of last download
Never

To free up resources for other users, files uploaded by an unregistered user with 0 downloads, meaning files that are
uploaded but has never been downloaded may be removed after 10 days from the date of the upload. For registered
free users, your file may be removed in 180 days, 60 days, 45 days, or 30 days depending on filesize (see table above).

Peace!

I did open an account with them. However, I haven't uploaded any files. I reviewed the FAQs & looked @ the privacy statement. I was and am concerned about the security of any data I might put out there, & the privacy statement only sort of, IMHO, addressed the issue.

I think the only to ensure any data you put out there, especially if you're using this web site as a backup source, would be to encrypt any sensitive data you might put out there, before you upload it.

I also looked for information about this vendor, & there wasn't anything describing who they are. Another cause for concern.

I really love to read your blog as well as the examples that you've mention. Thank you so much for this helpful contents. I am looking forward to see more example contents like this.

bogus website Jumbofiles. Their remote upload does not work at all. huh!!!

Copy is a new cloud service that is amazing! Dropbox conventionally only offers 2gb of storage, to say the least is hardly nothing for your videos / mp3 files. Copy provides 15 gb free on registration, and you can get an additional 5GB by registering through this link!

Total of 20gb registering through this link: https://copy.com

Good hope for better storage space.

It's 2017 and Jumbofiles does not work. It shows up as not able to find the server address. This sucks since I'm trying to copy and paste some files from my external hard drive somewhere so I can format it and partition some of it for my XBOX 360 and put all the files back on it.
