Until a few days ago Apple required developers to pay a $99/year charge to test out OS X Beta software releases, the same has been waived and anybody with an Apple ID can now get the OS X Beta released for free. Apple requires OS X Beta Seed Program users to accept a "Confidentiality Agreement" after which they will receive a Beta Access Utility for their Mac, which enables access to pre-release versions of OS X in the Mac App Store Updates panel. Apple also expects users to Test-drive beta software to provide quality and usability feedback's.
